Frequently Asked Questions
(or in Internet language "WTF?")

Here at Sic•Skinz we often receive eMails from prospective customers with some good questions. To help alleviate us having to continually reply to these eMails, we have taken the liberty to offer this page. If you do not see your question listed here, tell us and we will promptly add it if we feel it will assist others who may have the same question. Be aware that questions like, "Do you wear Boxers or Briefs?" will not be added to this page, but we may still answer ya :)

So, just "WTF" are Sic•Skinz?
Simply put, Sic•Skinz are graphic printed drum wraps that are high-heat laminated resulting in a thick enough wrap to be strong, but thin enough to be pliable and easy to work with. Our wraps do not need glue or any adhesive to mount them on your drums, but they do come with a 1.5" wide piece of double-stick tape on one end of the wrap to lock the seam down. Your lugs and hardware do the rest! This allows for the wraps to be easily removed or replaced with a new design without harming your original finish. They also work wonderfully as the original finish on new drums. Sic•Skinz are currently being used on drums manufactured by Orange County Percussion, Silver Drums, Revelation Drums, Viper Drums, Ddrum, Pearl, Ludwig, Sonor, DW, Tama, Yamaha, and more.

Who the "F" started Sic•Skinz and why?
Sic•Skinz Custom Drum Wraps was pioneered by Brien Tomassetti in late 2008 in an effort to offer an AFFORDABLE and cool-looking custom appearance for drums that are also extremely simple to install and replace. Brien was the Marketing & Advertising guy for a national music store chain where he handled all of the local and national advertising for a time. He also worked very closely with another wrap company where he created virtually ALL of their products -- and was given no credit for any of it -- possibly due to the overwhelming and outrageous ego, greed, and arrogance of the two partners who currently own that company. Anyway, Brien is a professional Graphic Designer who has over 15 years of experience in that field. He is also an avid musician who has played and recorded with some absolutely AMAZING talent over the years. Due to his musicianship, professional attitude, and all-around-coolguy facade, Brien has networked and/or become close personal friends with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Thus, he has created drum wraps for some of those folks that have been seen on the big stage, videos, tv shows, and photo shoots. If you see a bad-ass looking drumset with wicked-cool graphics on it, chances are Brien had SOMETHING to do with it!

How the "F" do Sic•Skinz Drum Wraps get installed?
The wraps are designed to go directly on top of your existing finish. Just remove all hardware, wrap the product around the drum, pull tight, and adhere the tape at the end. Reinstall hardware... done. All orders come with clear and concise installation instructions (you can download a PDF of that form here). They are extremely simple to put on and look absolutely amazing! Oh yeah... and now we have some simple videos showing how to do it properly on our Installation page of this site.

Does Sic•Skinz provide Mother of Pearl or Glass Glitter wraps?
We DO! We are an authorized reseller of DelMar materials, which means that we can now sell Pearls, Sparkles, Glitters, and the like. But, since we do not manufacture the product, we accept no responsibility for colors or flaws in the coverings. All we do is resell it. But, the upside is, that due to an agreement we have with our provider, we can offer the coverings to you sized to fit. Please be aware that DelMar materials must be GLUED to your shells, and are used to replace your existing finish. They do not install as easily as our graphic wraps do... they also require trimming for the bearing edge.

How the "F" do I submit a custom design?
If you are wanting a custom wrap we can do that too. We can either have our designers create something for you using your ideas, or you can submit your own artwork (imagery, pictures, band logo, even cloning another celebrity's kit). All submitted artwork or imagery MUST be at least 300DPI and in TIF, JPG, EPS, or GIF format. And MUST be at least 10" x 10" in size. Anything smaller or of lower resolution tends to come out "fuzzy", pixelated, or out of focus. Custom design wraps cost an additional one-time $30.00 fee to lay out and template, but it covers ANY wraps you do of that design, even ones in the future when you decide to expand your kit as we keep all artwork on file for you.

Am I restricted to the content of my custom design?
No, we very rarely care what it is you want on your kit, after all... you will be the one seen with it in public. All we ask is that you be responsible. We've actually done a wrap of Playboy Playmates and it looked really cool when we did it... but, it was tasteful too. Often times we get people asking if we can copy a design of a famous celebrity. Sometimes we can, sometimes we cannot. Case in point: Someone asked if we could reproduce the Pictures of Lily kit of Keith Moon's. We contacted Premier Drums and they said "NO!" because the imagery belonged to the Keith Moon Estate and they will not give it out. "Ouch!"... but to copy Vinnie Paul's Diamondback is totally acceptable. So, it depends on the situation, all you have to do is ask. We won't come to your house with armed thugs laden with batons and duct tape, we'll just say "yes", or "no", and leave it at that.

How the "F" do I order my sizes?
Sizes may be ordered at the point when you choose a design you like and click the thumbnail. It will direct you to a shopping cart page of that particular design which will have all of the drum sizes to choose from, not to mention a colorful and most often FUN & ENTERTAINING description of that design (courtesy of the never-ending wit of our faithful CEO). You just check off the sizes you need and the shopping cart does the rest. If the size you need is not listed, just call us Toll Free at 800.768.4518 and we can help you right over the phone to take your order and will more than likely add it to our selectable size listing on the site to help others in the future.

How much do Sic•Skinz wraps and/or heads cost?
The pricing of our wraps are very reasonable and are determined by the size of your drums you wish to cover. A pricing sheet can be viewed here.

How the "F" do I pay for my order?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, and PayPal. We also accept Money Orders, Personal & Corporate Checks, and Wire Transfers (The latter very rarely comes into practice as the amount for a set of wraps tends to be highly affordable, but does come into play when ordering fully-wrapped drumkits). Orders paid for by Credit Card or PayPal get processed immediately and MAY go out within 24 to 48 hours in most cases (although we request a two to four week turnaround time due to our Metallic Wraps and/or having to order supplies. Orders paid for by check will go into production only AFTER the check has cleared our bank (which in most cases can be 7 to 10 days AFTER we receive the check).

Do you sell Internationally?
Yes, as a matter of fact... we do. However, due to the unscrupulous acts of some individuals who fraudulently like to rip U.S. businesses off; we ask that any International purchases through our site be paid via wire transfer, bank check, or you must be a tangible business with a corporate account. We once had someone in Singapore try to rip us for two higher-end Ddrum kits and luckily we nailed them before they took us for 7 grand! So, you can see why we now do things the way we do. We run a legitimate business and all we request is that our International friends please do the same :)
